How to Prepare for CBSE Class 12 Boards 2027 (Science, Commerce & Humanities)
A practical plan for CBSE Class 12 boards 2027 covering NCERT, weightage-based revision, board papers, practicals and balancing entrance exams.
Class 12 boards come with extra pressure: entrance exams, practicals and college plans. A clear system makes the year manageable.
Understand your papers
Science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology have a 70-mark theory paper plus 30 marks of practicals. Maths, Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics have 80 marks of theory plus 20 marks of project or internal assessment. Every paper is 3 hours. Check the 2026-27 sample papers for your subjects.
The core loop: NCERT, PYQs, marking scheme
For each chapter: study NCERT thoroughly, then solve the chapter's previous year board questions, then compare your answers with the marking scheme. Repeat for every chapter. It's simple, and it's what works.
Use weightage to set priorities
- Maths: Integrals averages about 16–17 marks per paper. Maths important chapters
- Physics: Moving Charges & Magnetism, Electric Charges & Fields and Semiconductors lead. Physics
- Chemistry: Coordination Compounds, Aldehydes & Ketones and Electrochemistry. Chemistry
- Accountancy: Share Capital is the biggest chapter. Accountancy
Don't neglect practicals
Practicals and projects are 20–30 marks you can almost fully secure. Keep your file complete and prepare for the viva. See the practical exam guide.
Balance with entrance exams
NCERT overlaps heavily with JEE, NEET and CUET. Do one board-style written paper a week through the year, and shift mostly to board papers in the last 6–8 weeks. Read more: boards + JEE, boards + NEET, boards + CUET.
Final 6 weeks
Two to three full timed papers per subject per week, an error log, and revision of key derivations, reactions, formats and diagrams.
192 CBSE board papers split into single questions with official answers, chapter-wise practice and unlimited mock papers. 100% free: no ads, no paid plan, no hidden charges.
