CBSE Class 12 Study Plan 2026-27: Month-by-Month to the Boards
A month-by-month Class 12 board study plan from October 2026 to February 2027, with practicals, pre-boards and entrance-exam balance built in.
This plan works for Science, Commerce and Humanities. It assumes school teaching ends around December and boards start in mid-February, as in recent years.
October: audit and catch up
- Map every chapter: confident, shaky or not studied.
- Catch up on anything not yet studied, NCERT first.
- Start your practical file properly if you haven't yet.
November: syllabus plus board-style writing
- Keep pace with school teaching.
- Each week, write one board-style answer set (not just MCQs) per subject. Entrance-exam students especially need this.
- Begin revision sheets: derivations (Physics), reactions (Chemistry), formats (English), ledger formats (Accountancy).
December: complete the syllabus and practicals
- Finish all chapters by month-end.
- Complete practical records and projects. Practicals often happen in January or February.
January: pre-boards and full papers
- Full 3-hour papers: two per subject before the boards, at minimum.
- Pre-board analysis: list every lost mark and why.
- Revise high-weightage chapters: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Accountancy, Economics.
February: final polish
- Revision from sheets and error logs only. No new books.
- Practise the case-based and source-based sections, which reward calm reading.
- Protect your sleep.
If you're also preparing for JEE, NEET or CUET
Keep entrance practice going through November and December, but from mid-January give boards the priority until your last paper. The NCERT base serves both.
