CBSE Re-evaluation Process: Photocopy, Verification and Re-evaluation
How CBSE's post-result process works, from getting a photocopy of your answer book to verification of marks and re-evaluation, and how to decide whether to apply.
If your marks in a subject look lower than expected, CBSE has a post-result process to check them. It runs online on cbse.gov.in with fixed dates and fees.
The usual steps
- Photocopy of the answer book. See your evaluated copy.
- Verification of marks. Check for totalling errors, unmarked answers and similar mistakes.
- Re-evaluation of specific questions you believe were under-marked.
CBSE sets the order of steps, dates and fees each year, so read the circular as soon as results are out. The windows are short.
Should you apply?
Consider it if:
- your score is much lower than your pre-board and practice scores in that subject
- you're sure about specific answers, having checked them against the marking scheme
When you see the photocopy, compare each answer with the official marking scheme. That's the standard the examiner applied.
