How to Revise a Whole Subject in 7 Days Before the Board Exam

A 7-day plan to revise a full CBSE subject before the board exam, using chapter weightage, previous year questions and two full timed papers.

Seven days is enough to revise a subject well if you follow a plan.

Day 1: map the subject

List all chapters with their weightage. You can find it on the chapter weightage page. Mark each chapter strong, okay or weak.

Days 2–4: high-weightage and weak chapters

For each chapter: 30–40 minutes on the NCERT summary and your notes, then 45–60 minutes of that chapter's previous year questions. Check every answer against the marking scheme.

Day 5: remaining chapters, fast

Skim notes and solve 3–4 previous year questions per chapter. Focus on one-mark questions and definitions.

Day 6: full paper 1

A 3-hour timed paper in the board pattern. Mark it strictly, then spend the evening fixing the gaps.

Day 7: full paper 2 plus sheets

A second paper in the morning. In the evening, revise formula, reaction or format sheets only, and sleep early.

BoardPrep's free mock generator makes a fresh board-pattern paper for days 6 and 7, with an answer key.
