Class 10 Hindi Writing Section Tips (Hindi A and Hindi B)

How to score well in the CBSE Class 10 Hindi A and Hindi B writing section, covering paragraph, letter and other writing tasks, formats and common mistakes.

The writing section (रचना) in Class 10 Hindi A and Hindi B rewards correct format, a clear structure and clean language. Check the 2026-27 sample paper for the exact tasks and marks in your course.

Common writing tasks

  • Paragraph writing (अनुच्छेद लेखन): on a given topic, using the cue points provided
  • Letter (पत्र लेखन): usually a formal letter
  • Other short tasks such as an advertisement (विज्ञापन), a message (संदेश), a notice (सूचना) or an email, depending on the year's pattern

Paragraph writing

  • Cover every cue point you're given, in order.
  • Keep within the word limit.
  • Begin with an engaging line and end with a concluding thought.

Formal letter format

  1. Sender's address and date
  2. Receiver's designation and address
  3. Subject (विषय)
  4. Salutation (महोदय/महोदया)
  5. Body: purpose, details, request
  6. Closing (भवदीय/भवदीया), name

Tips

  • Use clear handwriting and correct मात्राएँ: spelling mistakes cost marks.
  • Practise one writing task a day in the final month.
