What should I carry to the CBSE board exam?
Carry your admit card, school ID card, blue or black pens, a pencil, eraser and geometry box in a transparent pouch, and a transparent water bottle. Check your admit card for any extra instructions.
What is not allowed in the CBSE exam hall?
Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, earphones and any other electronic devices are not allowed. Neither are written notes. Carrying them can lead to action under CBSE's unfair-means rules.
When will I get my CBSE admit card?
Admit cards come out a few weeks before the exams. Regular students get them from their school, and private candidates download them from cbse.gov.in.
What time do CBSE board exams start?
Exams usually start at 10:30 AM, with the question paper handed out at 10:15 AM for reading. Reach your centre early, as CBSE generally closes entry at 10:00 AM. Your admit card shows the exact timings.
What if I reach the exam centre late?
CBSE generally does not allow entry after the gate-closing time (usually 10:00 AM). Plan your route the day before and leave early, especially for your first exam.
Can I use a pencil in the CBSE board exam?
Draw diagrams, graphs and maps in pencil, but write all answers in blue or black pen.
How should I present answers in the board exam?
Write the question number clearly, leave a line between answers, underline key terms, show every step in numericals with units, and draw neat labelled diagrams. Neat presentation makes it easier for the examiner to find your marks.
What should I do in the 15-minute reading time?
Read the whole paper, choose your internal-choice options, note the questions you can answer fastest, and plan your order. You cannot write during this time, so do the planning in your head.
When are CBSE board results declared?
In recent years CBSE has declared Class 10 and 12 results in May. The exact date is announced by CBSE closer to the time.
Where can I check my CBSE board result?
Results are published on results.cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in, and digital marksheets appear in DigiLocker and on the UMANG app. You need your roll number, school number and admit card ID or date of birth.
How do I get my CBSE marksheet on DigiLocker?
Sign in to DigiLocker with your mobile number or the access code CBSE gives your school, then fetch your CBSE marksheet and pass certificate under Education. These digital documents are officially valid.
What happens if I fail one subject in CBSE boards?
You can take the supplementary exam, usually held in July, without losing the year. Class 10 students can usually appear in up to two subjects and Class 12 students in one; check the latest CBSE circular for that year's rules.
What is a compartment exam in CBSE?
"Compartment" is the old name for what CBSE now calls the supplementary exam. It is for students who did not pass a subject in the main exam, and is usually held in July.
How do I apply for re-evaluation of my CBSE paper?
After results, CBSE opens an online process on cbse.gov.in where you can request a photocopy of your answer book, verification of marks and re-evaluation. Each step has fixed dates and fees, so check the circular as soon as results are out.
Does CBSE publish a merit list or toppers list?
No. CBSE does not publish merit lists or name toppers. It issues merit certificates to students in the top 0.1% of each subject.
How is CBSE percentage calculated?
CBSE does not calculate an official percentage. Most schools and colleges add your marks in the best five subjects and divide by 5. Check the rule of the college you are applying to.
Does CBSE still give CGPA?
No. CBSE stopped the CGPA system and now gives marks and grades for each subject.
How do I stay calm on exam day?
Sleep well the night before, eat a light breakfast and reach early. Don't discuss answers outside the hall. In the hall, start with a question you know well to build confidence.
Should I study the night before a board exam?
Do light revision of your notes and formula sheet, not new topics. Stop at a reasonable hour and sleep 7–8 hours, because a rested mind recalls much better than a tired one.
What should I do after the CBSE board exams?
Rest for a few days, then plan your next step: your Class 11 stream, entrance exams like JEE, NEET or CUET, or college applications. Keep your admit card safe until results are out.
